Dr Kirby obtained her medical degree from Sydney University in 1997. She went on to complete her internship and residency in 1997 and 1998 at Nepean Hospital, and Westmead Hospital, respectively. She subsequently pursued formal surgical training through The Western Rotation, incorporating Westmead Hospital, Nepean Hospital and peripheral rotations. This equipped her with a broad base of surgical expertise covering all areas of the human body – the head and neck, the chest, the breasts, the abdomen, the pelvis, and the limbs – including trauma and emergency services.

Dr Kirby obtained her Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2005. She underwent 12 months of specific training in surgery for breast cancer and Melanoma at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital throughout 2005. From 2006 to 2008, Dr Kirby served as a consultant surgeon at various hospitals around Sydney, offering elective and emergency services at Nepean Hospital, Auburn Hospital, Ryde Hospital, and Fairfield Hospital – whilst establishing her concurrent private practice.

From 2006, Dr Kirby pursued specific and exclusive rigorous post-fellowship training in cosmetic surgery, involving various rotations with different Cosmetic and Plastic surgeons around Sydney. She continues to actively participate in regular meetings and conferences to keep up to date with the rapidly advancing techniques internationally.

Above and beyond her considerable skills and qualifications, and 10 years of surgical experience, Dr Kirby brings an approachable demeanour, a caring and compassionate nature, and a bright outlook that’s always presented with a smile.
